Overview
Grocery lists are for ordering raw ingredients that are not tied to a specific recipe. Think bulk flour, cleaning supplies, paper goods, or anything you need to restock.
Each item on a grocery list is an ingredient from your ingredient library, with a quantity and unit. This keeps everything consistent with your existing ingredient data and pricing.
Creating a Grocery List
Go to Grocery Lists in the sidebar under the Procurement section.
Click the New Grocery List button to start a new list.
Give your list a descriptive name, such as “Weekly Supplies” or “Friday Restock”.
Search for an ingredient by name, set the quantity and unit, and add optional notes. Repeat for each item you need to order.
Click Save to store your grocery list. You can come back and edit it later before adding it to a basket.
Adding to a Basket
Once your grocery list is ready, click Add to Basket. You can choose an existing draft basket or create a new one.
The ingredients are added as “direct ingredients” to the basket, tracked with source type “grocery”. This means you can always see which items came from your grocery list when reviewing the basket.
Tips
Grocery list items merge with recipe-based items in the basket. If a recipe needs 500g flour and your grocery list has 1kg flour, the basket shows 1.5kg total. This prevents duplicate ordering.
You can create grocery lists for recurring orders. Keep a “Weekly Essentials” list and add it to a new basket each week alongside your prep needs.
