Multi-Currency Costing

Cost recipes in the currency you actually pay in

Set your organization's currency from 17 supported options, and every recipe cost, food cost percentage, and menu price calculates in it automatically. Running outlets in more than one country? Each one sets its own currency, so nothing gets translated into a number that means something else.

Why Multi-Currency Recipe Costing?

Recipe costing tools built around a single global currency force an awkward choice on any kitchen that doesn't transact in that currency: either force every price into a number that doesn't match what actually appears on an invoice, or give up on the underlying math entirely. This gets harder the moment a business runs more than one kitchen, especially across borders, where a hotel group's outlets may each transact in a different currency but still answer to the same head office.

Cucinovo lets every organization set its own currency, chosen from 17 supported currencies including the Euro, US Dollar, British Pound, and Swiss Franc (the FAQ below lists all 17). Ingredient prices, recipe costs, food cost percentage, and menu prices are all expressed in that currency, with no conversion step in the way. A hotel group with outlets in different countries gives each outlet its own currency: the number on screen is always the number that would appear on that kitchen's own invoice.

For a group overseeing several outlets, the corporate dashboard rolls up food cost percentage and recipe and ingredient counts across every outlet it manages, and a percentage means the same thing regardless of which currency produced it, so the rollup never needs an exchange rate. What Cucinovo does not do is convert between currencies: if a shopping list, prep list, or event ends up with ingredients priced in more than one currency, the mismatched line is flagged instead of being summed at a guessed rate, so a wrong number is never presented as a real one.

Benefits

What you get with Multi-Currency Recipe Costing

17 supported currencies

Price ingredients and set your organization's currency from 17 options, including Euro, US Dollar, British Pound, and Swiss Franc. Recipe costs and menu prices follow automatically.

One currency per outlet

Every organization, including each outlet in a hotel or resort group, sets its own currency independently. A Bucharest kitchen prices in lei; a Zurich kitchen prices in francs.

Percentage-based group rollup

Corporate and resort dashboards compare food cost percentage and recipe or ingredient counts across outlets. A percentage means the same thing in every currency, so no exchange rate is needed.

Mismatches get flagged, not guessed

If a shopping list, prep list, or event pulls together ingredients priced in more than one currency, Cucinovo flags the mismatched line instead of silently converting it at a rate nobody set.

How It Works

Get started in minutes

1

Set your organization's currency

Choose your currency from Settings, one of 17 supported options. It defaults to Euro, but you can change it any time your organization actually operates in a different one.

2

Price ingredients in that currency

Every new ingredient defaults to your organization's currency. If you source an ingredient internationally, you can price that single ingredient in a different supported currency.

3

See costs calculate automatically

Recipe cost, cost per portion, and food cost percentage all calculate in your organization's currency, and the menu price you set is expressed in it too, with no separate conversion step.

4

Compare outlets by percentage, not by rate

If you oversee more than one outlet, the group and resort dashboards compare food cost percentage and recipe and ingredient counts, so outlets in different currencies stay directly comparable.
